Built by Athletes. Backed by Science. Driven by Impact.

Sean Tuohey

Founder & Director

Sean uses play to drive transformation. He founded PeacePlayers—an international nonprofit uniting youth across conflict zones through basketball. With Intellectual Athlete, he’s delivering performance psychology as a Trojan horse for mental health, building resilience through sport.

Alec Wortman

Director of Mental Performance

Alec turns sport into a vehicle for mindset mastery. With a background in psychology, kinesiology, and neuroscience—and over a decade of coaching—he teaches teens to self-regulate under stress using breathwork, visualization, and cognitive performance drills.

OUR MISSION

Why We Do This

We believe every young person deserves tools to thrive under pressure. By disguising mental health training as performance enhancement, we're breaking down barriers and building resilience where it matters most—in the moment, on the field, when it counts.

OUR APPROACH

Performance Psychology Meets Real-World Application

Evidence-Based

Everything we teach is grounded in research and validated through randomized controlled trials.

Sport-Integrated

Mental skills are taught through movement, competition, and pressure—not lectures.

Stigma-Free

Our training looks like performance coaching—but delivers real mental health benefits without the therapy label.
